Maite Hontelé ( Utrecht , 1980 ) is Dutch trumpeter who specializes in son .
Hontelé came into contact with the salsa , thanks to the record collection of her father. This collection contained many South American plates. Hontelé taught her ninth trumpet in the band of Haaften (Gelderland). After high school, the Old Courts in Gorinchem , where she had the music box in her graduation package [1] , she studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory .
From 2008 she plays in several bands, both in the Netherlands, as in Colombia . After a performance at a jazz festival in Medellín , she decided to live in Colombia. In 2011, toured the singer Rubén Blades with her by many countries, including France, Suriname and India. In 2013 she performed together with the rapper Typhoon on when Oerolfestival .
Her album Déjame Asi was nominated in 2014 for a Latin Grammy Award [2] .
