Let me introduce this young new trio of beautiful women, known as Concepto Sabor. This New York City group was created by Panamanian composer, producer & Jaz Records owner Aquilino Zuniga Jr., also known in the industry as Junior Zuniga. Junior has written and produced for many Salsa legends such as Isidro Infante, Frankie and Viti Ruiz, Cano Estremera, Conjunto Clasico, and Moncho Santana to name a few.
Consisting of group members Eva-Liz, Cynthia Lee, and Jamilka Kennedy, Concepto Sabor was developed despite the fact that many told Junior that an all female salsa group couldn’t possibly work. The track that we’re showcasing is the trio’s self-titled single “Concepto Sabor”, which is a very danceable song that should be well received in the clubs.
Currently, the group has been making a lot of noise due to their upcoming battle with Los Hermanos Colon, scheduled to be held on June 8th at SOBs. The event was put together by my friend Andres Padua of Hardsalsa.com, and has all the makings of a fun night. I’m definitely going to be there to check it out!
