Last summer I had the chance to meet Melena and see her perform live at the 5th annual Salsa Jazz Festival in Richmond, Virginia, and boy is she talented! Whether it be on the congas,timbales or bata drums, you name it and she can play it!
Although many know her as a Latin-Jazz Afro-Cuban percussionist, her new track “Por Si Vuelves” from her Baila Comigo CD shows off her true range and versatility. Far from being one-dimensional, this girl can swing and has the musical chops to perform a variety of styles.
