La Candela, a group formed in the Canary Islands, Spain, debuts with a tribute to the great Gilbert Calderón (aka Joe Cuba). The band and Cuban born vocalist Rafael Rodriguez showed a great deal of respect to the original arrangements and at the same time added their own swing making this a must add to your Salsa collection. The track I’m featuring is the classic “Clave Mambo”. Another highly recommended CD.
